Contacted by our journalist Stéphane Davy, Danny Brouwer (photo) discusses his starters for Thursday, in Strasbourg (R-2).

GOLD AND GREEN (109) recently ran at La Capelle. It was going too quickly for him, that day, the winner won in less than 1’13”. Thursday, he returns as an amateur. He won at this level in March at La Capelle. Its form is certain. Know that it has more hold than speed. He must have a good chance in this lot.

KODEX (412) signed two victories in a row, at La Capelle, in March. And, the last time, (editor’s note, 6th on May 5), the horse was 8 behind the car. His driver was forced to be a little “strong” at the start of the race and to counter the attacks in the last turn. However, he was not unworthy. The horse remained well. He comes back rope to the right. It won’t bother him. On the contrary. At the moment, I find it more comfortable on the right hand. It’s never easy to go the distance but, on Thursday, the commitment remains interesting. I hope he has a good run. If this is the case, we will have to seriously reckon with him.”

He adds: “We will be present on Sunday May 26 for the Elitloppet weekend. Niagara River will be competing against the best 4-year-old mares in the country. Oriana Boko will be at the start of a Gr.I reserved for fillies. She had already won in Sweden, at the age of 2, at the end of last year.”
