Vevey: The third edition of the Vibiscum festival will not take place

It seems that a line up of promising stars is not enough to create public enthusiasm on the Place du Marché, in Vevey (VD). In any case, this is what “Blick” affirmed on Wednesday, announcing the cancellation of the third edition of the Vibiscum Festival. Information confirmed by the organizer to “24heure”. The event, of which “20 minutes” is a partner, was to take place from May 30 to June 2, but too few tickets were reportedly sold.

On the side of the event team, some say they are not aware, while others refer to an official communication, which should be made on Thursday. For the moment, concert tickets for Hamza, KT Gorique, Shaka Ponk and Hardwell are no longer on sale on Ticketcorner.

Last year, the second edition of the festival, which notably welcomed the French rapper OrelSan and DJ Snake, brought together more than 30,000 people in Vevey, ended in the red figures, despite the support of major sponsors like Nestlé . In 2023, only a few thousand tickets were sold for the second evening, in an enclosure designed for 18,000 people. To avoid a void, the festival then distributed places to local traders in particular. Some of the festival-goers, who had already purchased their tickets, were offered additional entries at reduced prices.
