The festival hosted by the Cargo de Nuit in Arles takes place at the ancient theater from July 17 to 21.

For its 20th edition, the Les Escales du Cargo festival returns to the ancient theater of Arles with five eclectic evenings. The meeting is an opportunity to also highlight the independent label Pias, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, during the first two evenings.

The party begins on Wednesday July 17 with a Belgian evening bringing together the rock group Ghinzu and Warhaus, the project of the singer and composer of the group Balthazar. On Thursday July 18, the theater welcomes Texas, Sharleen Spiteri’s legendary Scottish rock group. In the first part, folk song and soul with Dinaa.

The festival continues on Friday July 19 with Ibrahim Maalouf & The Trumpets of Michel-Ange, a group of nine instrumentalists including five trumpeters, for a journey between jazz, world and pop.

Electro Saturday July 20, with the Ed Banger Records label and an explosive line-up bringing together Pedro Winter, manager of Daft Punk, MYD, the master of the French touch, PPJ, bringing together Povoa, Paula and Jerge, then the meeting between rap and electro with Kaba & Hyas.

The cycle ends on a Mediterranean note on Saturday July 21 with the Massilia Sound System celebrating its 40th career, Raoul Petite who is used to shaking up the Cargo audience and Rockette Records, a new Arlesian label.
