Identifying, supporting and promoting the more or less young musical shoots of the Gironde biotope: this is the mission that the Ev@sion pole in Ambarès and the Rockschool Barbey in Bordeaux have entrusted to themselves for two decades for the Scènes culturelles. Groups or artists from Gironde, amateurs but at the head of original compositions: such are the annual specifications for applying for this springboard which is not just one.

“A jury examines the applications at the start of the year, selects four,” explains Pascal Déliac, head of the Ev@sion cultural center. Meetings, work and stage preparation, appearances in the O2 Radio programming precede their performance in Ambarès. » The second phase is an analogous process developed this time by Barbey with a “Final” of the Crossed Scenes on the Rockschool stage in September.

From indie rock to song

On the menu for the 2024 vintage, first of all strong with the indie rock of Multiplication, an equation mixing split rhythm, crossed guitar lines and symmetrical bass riffs. Muscle again with So Many People, which dabbles with post-punk but also brit-pop carrying the voice of singer Paloma. Groovy, love, soul and funk for Velvet Project with introspective scents. Even more intimate with Andri and his melodic pop, his texts concerned with the world.

Four varied proposals to which must be added the good vibrations of Ondes, Bordeaux songwriter of the 2023 vintage. He also won the public prize before winning first place at the Tremplin de l’Entrepôt du Haillan in November, then that of Frayse’Toch this April 27. The guest will close an evening where live performances but also video interviews and entertainment will not be missing either.

Saturday May 18 (9:30 p.m.) in Ambarès, Ev@sion center. FREE ENTRANCE.
