Emmanuel Bilodeau was present on October 1 at the premiere of the film The Little and the Old to encourage friends in the industry. “The director, Patrice Sauvé, is my friend. I worked with him on the series Big Dipper at the time. I did a carpentry workshop with him this summer.” The actor could not stay very long at this premiere, because he had to leave for the Laurentians for filming very early the next morning. “I have to go to Sainte-Adèle. I am currently starring in a film called Tight Lettuce. It’s inspired by a true story. It’s a dark comedy about Joel’s (Dakota Daulby) unwavering love for his father, Bodo (Emmanuel Bilodeau), who struggles with heroin and fentanyl addiction. It is a touching love story between a father and his son. The film is mainly in English, but there are still scenes in French. I play with Castel and Maxim Roy, among others. Emmanuel Bilodeau is delighted by this challenge. “It’s one of the most beautiful projects I’ve participated in since René Lévesque. I went to meet people with addiction problems in downtown Montreal. The man I play is still alive today. I’ve talked to him on FaceTime a few times and watched a lot of videos of him. It’s an extremely moving and funny story, which addresses a very current subject with a unique character.”

He even had a hypothermia attack in a river during filming. “I was completely knocked out for an hour and a half. Fortunately, there was a medical professional on set who was able to take care of me immediately. It was my first hypothermia attack in my life. You’re cold inside. You’re shaking so much you’re no longer functional. I couldn’t play for a few hours, but in the end it was good.” Tight Lettuce is expected to hit theaters in late 2025.
