The Maurice-Sand Theater and the Équinoxe national stage in Châteauroux offer a baroque and intimate concert in the company of the famous Musicians of Saint-Julien, in the presence of its founder and researcher François Lazarevitch, Thursday May 16 at 8:30 p.m. One evening, they perform a magnificent anthology of Irish and Scottish melodies. These are mainly dance tunes and various instrumental pieces, from the 17e and 18e centuries, published until the 19e century (songs, variations, pieces dedicated to a protector, etc.).

Having devoted two CDs to early Scottish music (Forever Fortune), then to that of Ireland (The High Road to Kilkenny), the Musicians of Saint-Julien are masters in the interpretation of these repertoires.

François Lazarevitch (smallpipes and flutes) will be surrounded by two musicians: Garance Boizot on viola da gamba and Eric Bellocq on cittern and archlute.

Through concerts, tours in France, Europe and America – soon at the Volcan, national stage of Le Havre where the ensemble is in residence – and sixteen CDs labeled Alpha Classics, the Musicians of Saint-Julien have strengthened a presence strong on the French and international scene.

Concert Thursday May 16 at 8:30 p.m., ticket office opening at 8 p.m. Full price: €20, member price: €16. Reduced price: €10. Reservations: 02.54.48.20.10 (theater office) or online at www.theatremauricesand.fr
Next show: Friday June 7, 2024, “There’s going to be sport”.
