Roquefeuil: on the farm, we pull out all the stops

Élodie and Romain Artigues pulled out all the stops for this day which turned out to be exceptional. A wonderfully authentic decor (a hangar repurposed as a dining room) welcomed no less than 300 people. The shepherd’s pie with pork confit was a hit, as were the charcuterie platters overflowing with flavors. It was also possible to consume wine, cheese, and pancakes. The day was enhanced by a superb acrobatic performance, offered by the Circo Nagual company, where music resonated for the greatest pleasure of all. The children could enjoy the joys of horseback riding, with a little tour of the farm on pony back. The packages of cold meats and beef available for sale were also very successful. Three weeks of preparation were necessary to organize the festivities on the Goulet farm.

A slideshow by Dominique Durand, artist-photographer, was projected throughout the day and retraced the family life of Max Lataste, shepherd, with voice-over comments from the protagonist, enlightening us on the various aspects of his profession at the through the seasons.

Farm inn La Salamandre, hamlet of Caillens, Rodome

The smell of bread and the heat of the oven have won over visitors to this organic, family farm. Geneviève Chaudron and Marc Clair, Peasant bakers, offered a completely organic and local menu for this special day. A wide range of products was offered; bread, cold meats, potatoes, apple juice and red fruit coulis. All mouths were dazzled by the true taste of their production. The 80 meals were served near the bakery, sheltered from a capricious sky. In addition, the ears were also delighted by a duo of pianists with captivating music. Intimacy and conviviality were there.

All its producers are in organic farming.
