A festival designed by and for young people. For 25 years, the Cinscreen association has been involved in image education with school and public programs. A sometimes invisible work which will finally be visible this year, from May 14 to 17, with this first edition of the Vannes Festival. On the program: cinema for schools.

From kindergarteners to students

“With this event we wanted to offer something new in Vannes, which will continue to make it an annual event,” explains Anaël Marquis-Wasse, in charge of image education actions. This film event produced by those under 20 “is intended for nursery school children through to students”.

The Vannes Festival will be made up of new films, discussions with guests, workshops… A program that gives pride of place to science fiction and animated cinema. “We wanted to create synergy between the proposals,” says Anaël Marquis-Wasse. It’s also an opportunity to better understand the behind the scenes of making a film or to make one yourself. The objective? Bring together school audiences, teachers, movie buffs and simply curious people around the same films!

The program

Among the sessions of the program, you can find:

-School sessions where teachers can register their classes. All levels are concerned from nursery school to university, including cycles 1, 2 and 3.

A new animated film “Super Lion” (from 4 years old) accompanied by the distributor KMBO and a round table for children.

– A program of short films, also new (from 10 years old), in the form of carte blanche to the AFCA which gives pride of place to animated cinema in music videos.

– A fiction film “The Last Life of Simon” (from 10 years old), to discover in the presence of its director, Léo Karmann.

– A “Blade Runner” evening (from 14 years old), co-organized with Echonova, which offers a concert by the Festen group (2023 jazz winters) followed by the film by Ridley Scott.

– A KINO, co-organized with the Artisans Filmeurs, which offers an open creative time to make a film with set constraints! All of this, projected in theaters on a big screen and accessible to all audiences.

This event will be held in Vannes, in media libraries, at the Parc Lann and Garenne cinemas, at Le Brief and in Auray at Ti Hanok.
