In Vendôme, an air of satisfaction for the Vendôme Festival

A few minutes before the Michel Leeb concert, some still hope to be able to get a good seat. Too late. “Near the stage, everything has been full since December”, says Alison Morchipont, president of the organizing association, Guitares au Gré du Loir, in charge, this Sunday, May 12, 2024, of the ticketing. The last ones still available are upstairs. Sold !

The Minotaur is sold out this Sunday

These last lucky ones are delighted to be present. Just like the artist. “I am very happy to be here today, he says on stage. Because I love the guitar but also because it’s the first time I’ve come to Vendôme”.

For this last day of the Vendôme festival, the Minotaure is almost full. Which was the case throughout the festival. “Except for Saturday evening, May 11, all the concerts were sold out, confides Jérôme Dubois, treasurer of the association. We are very satisfied”.

This 27e edition went in the best possible way. Without a hitch. “There was good participation from the public, the artists are very satisfied with the atmosphere, the public and the places”adds Jérôme Dubois, who was able to count on around thirty volunteers for this edition.

Despite slightly less but still significant aid, the organization has “tried to always offer places at a reasonable price in order to make the most of them”indicates the treasurer of the association.

A budget of €90,000

This year, Guitares au Gré du Loir had to make do with around €90,000. With this sum, it was necessary to reserve the rooms, pay for accommodation, the artists’ fees and sometimes the rental of the instruments. “We rarely walk around with a piano”, smiles Jérôme Dubois. It’s a mission accomplished.

” NOWadds the association, we are already thinking about next year, which artists to program, how many evenings”. Even though the 2024 edition was not completely finished, discussions with the targeted artists have already begun but “nothing is done”. What is, however, is that the association “will remain on the same principle by being present in the Third Volume and the Minotaur”.
