During the night from Saturday to Sunday, the front of the Comédie, a theater in Tours, and the facades of adjoining houses were tagged to denounce the arrival of the actor and comedian, Ary Abittan, who was accused of rape in 2021 and for which he obtained a dismissal in April 2024.

Shame on the Comedy of Tours“, “Rapists we see you“, “Deprogram“… The writings could not be clearer: the people who tagged them on the front of the theater, La Comédie, in the city center of Tours, do not want Ary Abittan to come.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, a series of tags were written on the facade of the theater which will welcome the comedian and actor for his show on May 15 and 16. The action, claimed by the collective Actions feministes Tours, calls for the deprogramming of the artist due to an investigation for rape of which he was the subject in 2021.

Ary Abittan was indicted after being accused by a young woman aged 23 at the time of the facts of having imposed sodomy on her during sexual intercourse. The actor obtained a dismissal of the case in April 2024, but the student appealed.

In addition to the theater window, several facades of adjacent houses have been tagged with inscriptions. The feminist collective calls for a rally to protest against the comedian’s arrival on the day of his first show at the theater. The Comedy has not yet responded to our requests, and has not yet reacted.
