Chansons Sans Frontières returns for an 18th edition, on Thursday May 16, 2024, at the Big Band Café in Hérouville, near Caen (Calvados). This evening is the high point of this international competition for writing a text in French around the themes of human rights and freedom of expression.

Valentin Barbier reveals his multiple talents

This meeting will be an opportunity to discover the multi-instrumentalist Valentin Barbier. Songwriter and artistic producerhe is known for his collaborations with Fake, Annabella Hawk and Bison Chic.

He also writes and composes for Joseph Kamel and Victor Deverre. He will present his solo project in French, “inspired by the energy of rock, the naivety of pop, the melancholy of folk”.

“A unique, feminine and poetic writing”

He will open the stage to Clarika, a singer who stands out for “her unique, feminine and poetic writing”, who evokes the vagaries of life with self-deprecation and humor imbued with tenderness.

This remarkable artist will present her new album, Dance againwhich is celebrating its 30th career. A record which highlights his refusal of immobility and shortness of breath.

A way for her to continue her artistic adventure, but also to mark a break, by being part of a quest for renewal.
