Culture. After having her first book published in 2023 on the subject of the school bullying she suffered, Capucine Mereaux released her first novel, “La Montagne des reveries” at the end of April. She shares its genesis.

Writing never completely leaves her. What was, for her, therapy following school bullying became a hobby and finally her job. Alongside her activities as a web editor with her company Cap’Writing, Capucine Mereaux embarked on a literary adventure. After publishing her work to fight against school bullying in 2023, the young woman has taken the plunge into a new literary genre, the novel. At the end of April, the budding author released her first novel, “The Mountain of Reveries”.

A first novel written in six months

Capucine Mereaux reveals behind the scenes of the writing of her second book. “After the release of my first book, my desire to write remained insatiable. I had never written a story from A to Z. I took the gamble,” explains Capucine Mereaux. “The basic idea was to show that dreams are a way to combat depression. Without pressure, I gradually unraveled the common thread of my second work. I haven’t imposed a writing routine on myself. If I had an idea, I wrote it down. If that wasn’t the case, I gave myself time. » Started in May 2023, “La Montagne des reveries” was finalized last October.

“In The Mountain of Reveries, I tell the story of the meeting of two souls marked by the trials of life in a psychiatric hospital. The latter will change the course of their lives and make them experience a whole new story. They will reveal unsuspected potential during their exploration of Mexico and its fascinating world.” The two main characters are Clémentine and Françoise. The first is a young woman of 23 years old and the second is a lady over 60 years old.” Without revealing how the story unfolds, Capucine Mereaux indicates: “A third character, a young Mexican, will appear as the story progresses.”

Common points between the author and Clémentine

Some personality traits are not the result of chance. “Unconsciously, I draw inspiration from the environment around me. With the character of Clementine, we share a lot in common. Like me, she suffered school bullying in her younger years. Which plunged him into depression. We share a passion for Hispanic countries like Mexico. I was a student in a European class.” Today, the novel “La Montagne des reveries” is available on the website of the publisher “Le Lys bleu”, but not only that. It can also be purchased on various e-commerce platforms.
