Despite the presence of a beautiful cat in her apartment, a woman gets lost in a repetitive daily life. Something is missing. One morning, she goes for a walk in the forest and comes face to face with a deer. She strokes its antlers and the animal, pursued by a hunter, gives in. That same evening she will meet a handsome stranger who will seem familiar to her…

The Belgian Wide Vercnocke excels at drawing bodies, desire and virility budding like a silky branch, or this mushroom, a phallus impudicus, piercing the humus. In sequences of several pages, sometimes almost without dialogue, the Flemish with a dry and nervous line, not devoid of gentleness, transmutes the dull everyday life with a cleverly measured fantasy, makes the borders between the animal world and us more porous, thwarts the expected morality .
