Castillon-en-Couserans: a memorable evening in the 1960s and 1970s

This Wednesday, May 8, the Foyer du Castillonnais was the scene of a real journey through time, transporting its audience fond of nostalgia to the 1960s and 1970s. Under the spotlight, Les Copains d’abord offered a show memorable, revisiting the great classics of French song, from flagship titles to the most unknown nuggets.

The packed room was almost not enough to accommodate all the spectators, some of whom came from very far away, thus testifying to the enthusiasm aroused by this cultural event. Thanks to the effective intervention of the town hall, the evening, which was sold out, was able to take place in perfect conditions.

A warm atmosphere

From the first notes, a warm atmosphere settled in the room, promoting a rare bond between the artists and their audience. Each in their own way paid homage to the great names of French song: the melodic tranquility of Brassens, the power of Brel’s lyrics, the bright and sometimes dark colors of Ferrat, the captivating accent of Nougaro resonating along the Garonne, without forgetting the timeless poetry of Cabrel, all interspersed with the subtle and endearing poetry of Véronique Martinez, greatly appreciated.

These three hours of show left in the hearts of the spectators present a shared feeling of happiness and fulfillment.

Helping heritage

An appointment has already been made for the 2025 edition. Beyond entertainment, this event also has a philanthropic dimension. The revenue generated will help support the actions of the Patrimoine en Couserans association in favor of the restoration of listed buildings in the region. The president of the association is delighted with this renewed enthusiasm, which will enable us to effectively pursue this noble mission.

In short, Les Copains d’abord once again honored the memory of the great names of French song, while breathing new energy into the preservation of local heritage. An unforgettable evening, where music and solidarity intertwined harmoniously for the greatest happiness of all.
