From May 15 to 20, 2024, the doors of the Belle-Isle exhibition center open to welcome the long-awaited Châteauroux Fair. If this year no longer celebrates the hundred years of the event, it nevertheless honors a century-old history of exchanges, conviviality and discoveries, with its 100e edition.

“It’s a great edition that is being prepared”

Under the leadership of Châteauroux Events, this year’s edition promises to be memorable. “The fair will be filled with more than 180 exhibitors across the entire site under the bubble of the exhibition center, in the Barbillat-Touraine room, in the gymnasium and on the vast outdoor space, specifies Anne-Laure Bodin, director of Châteauroux Events. This is a great edition that is being prepared. »

The fair will be notably animated by two key elements : the exhibition origami creations by Japanese artist Tetsuya Gotani, where visitors will have the chance to participate in creative workshops led by the artist, and an exhibition on the optical illusions of Karl the Magician, in the heart of the Barbillat-Touraine room. On Sunday, Jean-Marc Généreux, jury of the show Dance with the stars and star guest of the fair, will present a special creation in honor of the Châteauroux Fair and the Olympic Games. The public will be invited to dance.

The essence of the fair

What distinguishes the fair, according to the director, is its unchanged essence over the years: “The direct exchange with exhibitors, the possibility of negotiation, this authentic human contact which tends to be lost in the internet age, remains at the heart of the event. Moreover, every day, people are stimulated by this or that event. Every day has its share of surprises. »

Among the most anticipated attractions, the “magic showcase” will once again offer visitors the opportunity to guess the value of an assortment of objects offered by exhibitors. The lucky winner will win all the prizes on display.

Châteauroux exhibition fair, from May 15 to 20, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the Belle-Isle exhibition center. Free admission. Restaurant village. Meals animated with music.
