The Lanceurs d’Arlette collective returns to Sophie Desmarets Park for a day dedicated to circus and music in a friendly and sharing spirit.
The Sophie Desmarets park, in the Mosson district, the Lanceur d’Arlette collective enjoyed it there last year for the second edition of Arlette ton cirque. Since the cultural mayonnaise had set well, the members decided to go back with the same ingredients. This 3rd edition is also dedicated to the emerging scene of contemporary circus arts and Montpellier music.
The first steps and the pros
The idea is to mix professional circus companies with amateur or semi-professional artists. This is how the day begins with a one-hour cabaret made up of short formats giving everyone the chance to catch the eye of the public. Then, we have an appointment with the acrobatic duo from Cirque compost in which it is forbidden to touch each other. After a stand-up by Valentin Dilas, it’s the return of the circus with Mektoubsolo show-girl mixing circus, dance, and theater, and From singles to doubles, a duo in which contemporary dance, hip-hop and circus flights come together. On the music side, the atmosphere prevails with the afrobeat fanfare Foufouta Orchestra, the rap of Chaïb, the electro-rap of Golimar and a DJ set to close the day, that of Rosie & Poupa.
