His life changed on November 13, 2015. Fred Dewilde, one of the Bataclan survivors, ended his life on Sunday May 5, 2024, indicates on the social network X (formerly Twitter) the victims’ association Life for Paris , sharing a text from his family.

The man who said “that a part of him was dead” on the evening of the Paris attacks, “ended his life […] devastated by the violence of his traumas against which he fought tirelessly before with so much courage, talent and generosity…”write those close to him.

“I restrict my hatred”, he confided in 2016

“We are in shock and devastated by the violence with which this sneaky poison spread by the terrorists of November 13, 2015 implacably struck after more than 9 years of fierce resistance”they continue in the Life for Paris press release.

Fred Dewilde told his story in a comic book, My Bataclanpublished in 2016. “I restrain my hatred because it just wants to come out. I fight it because I know its result”he confided to West France in 2016 on the occasion of the release of this book. In 2018, he also published The bitein 2018.
