WWE RAW: Review of the first round of the King And Queen Of The Ring 2024 tournament

WWE launched its King And Queen Of The Ring 2024 tournament on May 6 on RAW with the first round on the men’s and women’s sides for the red division.

There were some changes to the matches due to three injuries. Indeed, Jey Uso replaced Drew McIntyre, Dakota Kai replaced Asuka and Kofi Kingston replaced Xavier Woods. The other matches went as planned.

Here are the results of this first round:

King Of The Ring

  • Jey Uso defeats Finn Balor
  • Ilja Dragunov defeats Ricochet
  • Gunther defeats Sheamus

Queen Of The Ring:

  • Iyo Sky defeats Natalya
  • Ivy Nile defeats Zoey Stark
  • Lyra Valkyria defeats Dakota Kai

If you pay attention you will notice that two matches are missing. WWE ultimately made the decision that some matches will take place in Live Event (non-televised show) during the weekend and not on RAW. Which means that Rey Mysterio against Kofi Kingston and Shayna Baszler against Zelina Vega will take place in Live Events this weekend.

The next matches will be the quarterfinals and will take place next week on RAW and go like this:

  • Jey Uso vs Ilja Dragunov
  • Gunther vs [Kofi Kingston OU Rey Mysterio]
  • Lyra Valkyria vs Zoey Stark
  • Iyo Sky vs [Shayna Baszler OU Zelina Vega]

On the SmackDown side, the first round will begin this Friday.
