The BMCI Foundation reiterates its support for the “Moroccan Short Mobile Film Contest” Festival for its second edition

The awards ceremony will be held on May 7, 2024 at the Mohammed VI Theater in Casablanca, in the presence of several personalities from the world of cinema and art. The event is supported by the BMCI Foundation but also by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication to encourage young talents in the field of cinema.

This new edition confirms the enthusiasm generated the previous year with more than 200 participating short films, produced entirely using smartphones and highlighting the creative spirit of the young Moroccans selected to compete. These short films were received and evaluated by members of the jury composed of directors and photographers Wadii Charad, Marco Ricci and Nabil Merrouch. 17 of them were selected to compete for the prizes awarded in the following four categories:

  • Jury Prize
  • Internet users’ prices
  • Hope Prize offered by the ARTCOM, ESPAV and EPAG institutes
  • Special price offered by the BMCI Foundation

The support of the BMCI Foundation for the MMFC for the second consecutive year is part of the patronage policy pursued by the BMCI for almost 20 years. A strong commitment materialized by the creation of the BMCI Foundation in 2008 and the pursuit of an active patronage policy in favor of culture and the arts, in all their forms.

Fully invested in the valorization, enrichment and transmission of our cultural heritage, the BMCI Foundation, with the support of the BNP Paribas Foundation, has accompanied and supported various artistic projects which, in addition to contributing to preserving our heritage, defend the accessibility of culture to all Moroccans and the promotion of the arts as a vector of social development, particularly among young people.

As a reminder, the MMFC is positioned as the first smartphone-based film creation competition aimed at encouraging young screenwriters to make all types of films, regardless of the heavy constraints of traditional production. All of the participants’ audiovisual productions can be viewed on the festival platform: https://www.mmfc.ma
