This is quite simply the best start to the year 2024 at the cinema for a French film. With more than 900,000 entries in five days, A little something extra has defied all predictions since its release on Wednesday May 1st. “We can’t expect that.”told RTL director Artus, who expanded on the first feedback regarding his comedy, which features people with disabilities.

“I am delighted when I see the families, when I see the impact it has on my actors, who gain subscribers on (social) networks. Even the big idiots on the networks, because there are some, even they said to themselves: ‘Come on, we’re a little human and we don’t throw hate in each other’s faces’ and give positive feedback”, relishes Artus at the microphone of RTL this Monday, May 6.

“We talk to the spectators about something that doesn’t resonate with current events, we take them somewhere else, I think they want to tell themselves, for an hour and a half, that we’re not going to talk about everything that’s happening in the world”, continues the director to explain this unexpected success. “It also feels good to disconnect for a little while“, he believes.
