This Thursday, May 2, the Princess Charlotte, daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton, celebrated her ninth birthday. On this occasion, the Prince and Princess of Wales posted a photo of their daughter on social networks. A portrait taken by Kate Middleton herself, on which we see the young princess taking a break in a garden, leaning on a fence. Princess Charlotte was dressed in a denim skirt, a raspberry-colored wool cardigan, a navy blue sweater and a floral shirt underneath.

But, in this pretty photo, taken in the gardens of the Windsor estate in Berkshire, a detail went unnoticed. Indeed, the cliché makes a sweet tribute to the Queen Elizabeth IIgreat-grandmother of Charlotte, George and Louis, died on September 8, 2022.

A tribute to Elizabeth II

Indeed, in the photo, to the left of Princess Charlotte, we can see pink flowers. These are called “Clematis Elizabeth”. In fact, they are one of the first plants to have been named in honor of Queen Elizabeth II.

These flowers bloom from April to May, which coincides perfectly with Princess Charlotte’s birthday. This had a strong link with the late queenreport on Sun.
