The latest opus by Moroccan director Hicham Lasri “Moroccan Badass Girl” is finally released in national theaters.

Produced by Saad Production and distributed by Concept Mena, the feature film has been unveiled to the general public since May 1, after being screened in world premiere at the Marrakech International Film Festival at the end of December. Hicham Lasri tells, in 83 minutes, the story of Kathy, a young Moroccan woman who fights every day to earn a living and realize her dreams. The plot takes place in the streets of Casablanca where the director follows his main character played by Fadoua Taleb very closely and recounts with comedy and satire his daily life full of suffering.

On the eve of her 30th birthday, Khadija, nicknamed “Kathy”, wakes up one morning and discovers in a great moment of solitude and lucidity that life has not been kind to her. She realizes that she is being exploited by her family and her fiancé. In an electric Casablanca, the film portrays a society through a young woman who refuses to abandon her dreams and submit to society.
