The Courage of the Birds is his mantra. Rachid Ouramdane just whispers Dominique A’s famous farewell song and it’s like a theme song. In a high office in the Grand Théâtre, the French choreographer dreams Outsider, the show that he rehearses with dancers from the Geneva Ballet and extreme athletes, including star tightrope walker Nathan Paulin – premiere this Friday. The artist hums “If only we had the courage of birds that sing in the icy wind” and you soar.

His voice is soft wool, his face is like fine rock. Outsider is a burst of dreams, a facet of a plural work, oscillating between two edges, one political and fraternal, the other poetic and weightless. In 2018, he highlighted the grace and courage of teenagers exiled in (Cross the night, played in several cities, each time with young migrants established there). In 2019, he introduced a squadron of boys and girls to the grammar of starlings (Möbius with Company XY). Invitation to in both cases.
