It was last Friday April 26 that the Claude Nougaro room welcomed astonishing artists. On stage, seven musicians and backing singers set the stage on fire during a tribute concert to pop legend Elton John. The Elton Tribute group offered to cover the best of the artist, thanks to the boundless energy of Arnaud de Maria, singer and pianist, and his musicians.
“I am lucky to have a voice that is similar and the same energy as him,” Arnaud de Maria said last week, referring to his lifelong inspiration. This was undeniably true this Friday, where the public was delighted to relive the British artist’s greatest hits.
Some 200 people came to watch the performance, where telephone flashes lit up as lighters.
Little ones will even recognize the famous romantic song from the animated film “The Lion King”, sung in English for the occasion.
The musicians and choristers also paid a beautiful tribute to this legend. The 2019 biopic “Rocketman” brought this extraordinary pianist and artist back into fashion, who has become an icon of international pop culture.
