Yoga has its origins in Indian culture, as do the names of its postures. But there are equivalents in French with terms inspired by nature and animals. Thus, Léa Akremann, smiling “hatha” yoga facilitator at the MJC, teaches members the posture of the tree, the mountain, the triangle, the bridge but also those of the dog, the cobra, the crocodile. She gradually leads her “yoginis” (women who practice yoga) from the easiest postures to the most complicated, the “asanas”, focusing on the physical aspect while instilling a particular way of breathing, “pranayama”. or breath control. Each exercise takes into account the level of the followers. Overcoming stress, relieving anxiety, improving flexibility and balance as well as the quality of sleep are some of the objectives of yoga and Léa’s protégés, who regularly attend her classes, are not mistaken. .

For 2024-2025, the sessions started again on September 27, they take place every Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the MJC dojo. There’s still room. Information at 06.49.51.42.33.
