Accompanied by the Queen Camilla, he visited the Macmillan Cancer Center at University College Hospital in London this morning, Tuesday April 30. Their visit aimed to raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis and discover the innovative research supported by Cancer Research UK.

The outing also marks Charles’ first day as the new boss of Cancer Research UK, a position he took up recently.

Last Friday, on social networks, after a barrage of rumors that went viral on the web, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Charles would gradually resume his public commitments. He is expected to take on new roles and responsibilities in the coming weeks, including a state visit with the Emperor and Empress of Japan in June.

A press release from the palace, published by Harper’s Bazaar Tuesday morning, expressed Their Majesties’ gratitude for the support received from around the world during this difficult health period. It was also mentioned that Charles felt eager to return to full function after his treatment and recovery period.
