On September 7, Dina inaugurated her Atomic Cake patisserie at 13, Place de la Trinité, combining the inventiveness of the British cupcake and French artisanal excellence.

A courageous journey for Dina who, despite her unconditional love for cakes since childhood, took other paths: “I have been living in Toulouse for twenty-five years, she explains. Pastry is a dream as a child, discovered with my grandmother, with whom I made cupcakes, these small single-serving Anglo-Saxon cakes, often very colorful in the shape of a muffin. But I also loved, like any self-respecting Brit, the. rock So when I arrived in France, I was a singer and I experienced exhilarating moments in the rock group Atomic Tabasco before trying a “real” job.

This is how Dina joined the aeronautics sector in Toulouse and became a customer manager at Airbus, making a 180° change. This parenthesis did not last long, since at the age of 54, she chose to change direction and make her dream come true: making cakes. “At 56 years old, I started by first taking a CAP in pastry. With my diploma in hand, I decided to open the Atomic Cake pastry shop with a friend, Céline, recalling both the name of my rock group and the nickname given in my youth, Atomic Girl”. A “bonbonniere” place that naturally invites you to indulge in indulgence.

This cupcake tickles the customer’s taste curiosity

The idea of ​​the two women is to revisit the cupcake by keeping its British originality and eccentricity, but by making it even more delicious inside, French version: “For this, we imagined making it a dessert with layers of soaked sponge cake, crispy with foam depending on the flavor”. Available in eight flavors, this unusual cupcake tickles customers’ taste curiosity: “The product is new, it attracts and raises positive questions. It’s a good sign,” says Dina, who plans to take orders for cupcakes for events . “I made my dream come true, and that’s what matters most to me.”
