Already movement towards the new Decathlon Perpignan, opened for a month in place of the two old stores located in the south of the city. In a few weeks, the gigantic building which houses the famous sports brand will see the arrival of a new brand: a Colombus Café is announced.

Colombus Café opens next to Decathlon

This project was already in the works, even before Decathlon’s move. He is now back on track. By the start of summer, a new Columbus Café will open its doors in Perpignan, within the same building which houses the large sports and leisure retail brand.

Joined by News Perpignan, Ahmed Ghariani, the franchisee of Colombus Café in Perpignan, already at the head of the first point of sale located in the Polyogne shopping center, specifies the contours of this future opening. The new Colombus Café will be located to the left of the Decathlon entrance. It will extend over a interior surface area of ​​260m2and will benefit from a 80m terrace2.

“A Colombus Café backed by a Decathlon may come as a surprise, but it’s a combo that is already present in other cities, and which works very well. Decathlon’s clientele corresponds to that of our caféswhich offer healthy and quality products,” says Ahmed Ghariani.

Around ten employees wanted

Coffees, cappuccinos, lattes, teas, pastries, English toasts, salads, bowls, club sandwiches, bagels and other ciabattas… The future Colombus will have a complete offering, savory and sweet, for breakfast, lunch or even to taste. For fans of the brand, the work is in progress, and the opening is scheduled for early June.

In the meantime, a recruitment campaign was launched. Around ten job offers are in progress, via Work. “We are looking for future baristas, who will be trained. We wish dynamic profiles, who know how to work as a team and who are not afraid to learn,” explains Ahmed Ghariani.


The job offers concern Part-time permanent contract, in 24 hours or 30 hours per week. “These positions will evolve according to the profiles,” concludes the franchisee.
