The Egyptian businessman and former owner of the Harrods department store, who died in 2023, faces dozens of accusations of sexual assault and rape.

“It is essential that all victims are able to speak out.” After the revelation of dozens of accusations of sexual assault and rape against Mohamed Al-Fayed, a famous businessman who died in 2023, British police are looking for new potential victims.

A year after the death of the wealthy Egyptian, in December 2023, tongues are loosening. Already 37 victims have been identified around the world, leading the police to suspect that other women continue to remain silent.

Following the revelations about Mohamed Al-Fayed in an investigation broadcast by the BBC, the lawyers of the billionaire’s declared victims announced that they had received “more than 150 new requests” for information from survivors and people with evidence concerning Al-Fayed.

Supporting victims

“It is essential that all victims are able to speak out and report any allegations if they have not already done so, and know that they will be taken seriously,” London’s Metropolitan Police told Sky News.

And to assure: “We have specialized teams to ensure that all victims who contact us are supported in the best possible way.”

Born in 1929 in Alexandria, Mohamed Al-Fayed was best known for being a formidable businessman, owner of the luxury brand Harrods, for his immense fortune estimated by Forbes at two billion dollars, for the death of his son in the accident which cost the life of Princess Diana, but also, now, for his sexual violence.
