The Ali Zaoua Academy of Cultural Professions (AMC) is organizing its second masterclass entitled “Networking: a considerable strength” on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Les Étoiles Cultural Center in Sidi Moumen in Casablanca. This event, hosted by Manuèle Debrinay-Rizos, professor and consultant in cultural policy and management, and moderated by Mohamed El Kajjouny, director of cultural projects and radio host, is part of a series of meetings organized by the AMC to strengthen collaboration and exchanges in the cultural sector in Morocco.

The main objective of this masterclass is to highlight the importance of networking for stakeholders in the cultural sector. Using concrete examples and expert testimonies, participants will have the opportunity to explore how collaboration between artists, institutions and other cultural stakeholders can boost the creation and dissemination of projects. Networking is presented as an essential lever for structuring a cultural sector undergoing major changes in Morocco.

This initiative is part of the broader mission of the Ali Zaoua Academy, which aims to democratize access to culture and to promote the active participation of young people in this field. Supported by strategic partners such as the European Union, the Drosos Foundation and the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), the AMC develops programs designed to train and support young Moroccan talents in cultural professions. Present in five key regions of Morocco (Casablanca-Settat, Fez-Meknes, Marrakech-Safi, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, and Souss Massa), the Academy aspires to become a reference center for training in this sector.

By regularly organising masterclasses, the AMC seeks to encourage dialogue between professionals in the cultural sector, experts and young talents. These meetings aim to make culture more accessible to the general public, while promoting the creation of strong networks within the artistic and cultural community. The aim is also to offer young artists an environment conducive to their development and to support local cultural initiatives.

The support of the European Union, within the framework of the Morocco-EU partnership for culture, and of the Drosos Foundation, demonstrates the importance of this initiative for the development of the cultural sector in Morocco. The approach adopted by the AMC is intended to be inclusive and aims to promote cultural diversity while contributing to the emergence of new artistic projects across the Kingdom.

This second masterclass, focused on the theme of networking, is a concrete example of the AMC’s commitment to structuring the Moroccan cultural sector. By setting up these meeting and training spaces, the Academy offers artists and professionals in the sector the tools they need to collaborate effectively and to promote Moroccan culture nationally and internationally.

Thus, through these initiatives, the AMC plays a key role in supporting young talents and promoting an inclusive and accessible culture for all. Networking, as it will be explored during this masterclass, appears to be an essential means of supporting artistic creation, strengthening collaborations and boosting the cultural sector in Morocco.
