The festival, dedicated to exploring the links between literature and cinema, opens up to other cultural horizons with the presence of Alain Chamfort who comes to sign his latest album, “L’Impermanence”, on Thursday September 26, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the festival village.
If Alain Chamfort is best known for his musical career, he is also close to cinema, “I have always been a big fan of cinema, especially in the 70s and 80s,” he confides, although his interest has slightly diminished over time. He has made a few appearances in films, notably in The Sand Castle , Don Juan alongside Tahar Rahim and more recently in the stolen painting. Alain Chamfort explains that he approaches his work as an actor with instinct and emotion.
Music and cinema: a discreet relationship
Although composing for the cinema is not his preferred field, Alain Chamfort has contributed to several television films and to a film by Jean-Pierre Mocky, Death to the refereeon the advice of Eddy Mitchell. However, this experiment was not the most conclusive due to Mocky’s unpredictable method: “He made the music appear and disappear as he pleased, it was a bit chaotic.”

A return to the stage in an intimate setting
Alain Chamfort is currently performing on stage with two formulas. The second, more classic, is a concert with four musicians who allow him to offer a performance more focused on music, a concept offered in the summer of 2024 at the ideal palace of the Cheval postman.
