Jean-Guihen Queyras offers us a second reading of Bach’s Cello Suites

On the occasion of the publication of his second complete works of Cello Suites by Jean-Sébastien Bach, Jean-Guihen Queyras will be, this Monday, September 23 at 8 p.m., the guest of the Classique newspaper.

“I have such a personal relationship with these suites, they have accompanied me to so many theaters and countries, that I could not live without them” Jean-Guihen Queyras confided to Emmanuel Reibel in a book of interviews devoted to Cello Suites Bach’s work released last year. And he has just offered us his second reading on disc, 17 years after the first, which had already been praised by the press.

A double album released by Harmonia Mundi at the same time as his new recording with Riccardo Minasi and the Resonanz ensemble dedicated to the concertos of Antonin Kraft and CPE Bach.

A series of concerts at the Philharmonie

This evening, Jean-Guihen Queyras will return to his long association with these Bach suites, which he continues to play in concert, solo or with the dancers of Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker’s Rosas company.
