It won’t be for this year. The belfry of (North) finished in second place this Wednesday in the “Favorite Village of the French 2024” 3 program presented by Stéphane Bern from the Château de (), in partnership with France Bleu.

“Superb second place”

Internet users who voted in the competition preferred to vote for the 24 Hours of circuit ()which therefore succeeds the Sedan fortified castle in the Ardennes, which was awarded the prize last year. “Superb second place for the Douai belfry during the 2024 edition of the French people’s favorite monument. We are more proud than ever of this belfry, one of the most beautiful in the North and in France!”, The Department is still pleased on social networks.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit was chosen from among 14 monuments representing the different regions of France, including the Douai belfry, but also the Château de Fontainebleau, in Seine-et- (Île-de-France), the Le Corbusier site Firminy-Vert, in the (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), the Lazaret de la Grande Chaloupe, in Réunion, and the Parc de Saleccia (Corsica).
