Nérac. The castle will be very lively this weekend

This weekend, the 41st edition of the European Heritage Days is a great opportunity to reconnect with the practices, know-how and cultural heritage of the Renaissance. The Château-musée Henri IV, the jewel of the city of Albret, is of course part of it. Free visits, guided tours and all kinds of activities are on the program this weekend.

Self-guided tours of the castle are free, open to the general public and without reservation. They can be done from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on these two days (last access to the castle at 12 p.m. in the morning and 5:30 p.m. in the afternoon). Guided tours of the castle will take place at 11 a.m. They are also free and without reservation (duration: 1 hour), but limited to 30 people. Game booklets are available for sale (from €0.50 to €3) to discover the city and its gardens in a fun way.

Free activities are also planned for these European Heritage Days. On the forecourt of the castle,

Saturday and Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., illumination workshops for young and old, without reservation,

with Hélène Roche, art historian and color enthusiast (from 6 years old).

At the same time and in the same place, Lucile Moreau, visual artist and engraver, offers a visual art construction game of the Château de Nérac (from 5 years old). Another free activity offered, “Make your royal badge”, also from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. With family or friends, come and make your royal badge from A to Z. Let your imagination run wild and have fun!

Finally, to honor our good King Henry, a “Make your Renaissance strawberry” workshop using recycled paper with costume designer Karen Hobbs (from 5 years old).
