A septuagenarian who won a $32 million jackpot in October 2019 gave almost all of her fortune to those close to her, but regrets having done so so quickly.
If it were to be redone “there would be many who would not have one. They would have waited for me to die to have some, ”says Lilianne Synotte Deschênes, in Montérégie.
At least, she believes she should have waited before offering any, to better understand the ambitions of her recipients.
“I thought it would be more appreciated than that. They don’t come to see me. Them others make their life, travel, and are happy”, says the one who claims to find her happiness in the little things of life.
“If they are happy, I am happy,” said the one who gave in particular to her children, her nephews and her friends.

Housekeeper fired
She still invested a few hundred thousand dollars for a new car and in the construction of a new house.
“I had a cleaning lady, but I kicked her out. She ran a wet mop over my floors. It didn’t interest me,” explains M.me Synotte who, since then, takes care of the housekeeping alone.
The one who admits to being “a very flat person” has not done too much with her money either. Her husband benefits more, she judges.
“I’m too old to have jewelry or nonsense like that. And I don’t like to travel,” she says, laughing.
In fact, his life has not really changed. She “sometimes does puzzles in the winter” and goes “outside more when the weather starts to get nice”.
“I would like it to be younger people who win the lottery, not the older ones. It does not give much to my age”, judges the 73-year-old woman.
