He was indicted this Saturday and imprisoned. Rapper Koba LaD had been involved in a fatal accident in Créteil, in Val-de-Marne, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday and was under the influence of “narcotics”.
Koba LaD was “charged with aggravated involuntary manslaughter and aggravated involuntary injury and placed in pre-trial detention,” the Créteil prosecutor’s office said.
The 24-year-old artist, who lives in Essonne, was driving on Tuesday evening, a source close to the case explained, when his vehicle, a luxury sports sedan, arrived “at full speed” on an exit ramp of a petrol station on the A86 motorway and hit a parked heavy goods vehicle.
The front passenger, born in 1994, died. The vehicle driven by Koba LaD was also carrying a rear passenger, born in 1999, who was slightly injured in the accident.
The driver of the heavy goods vehicle that was hit was also “slightly injured,” the prosecution added.
Koba LaD was sentenced in 2020 to a three-month suspended prison sentence and 140 hours of community service for a car accident in Marseille. He fled after the incident, before reporting to the police three days later.
