Residents of a residence taken hostage by a horde of wild boars

It’s scary in the snout – A gang of wild boars has made a Marseille residence its nocturnal hunting ground, terrorizing the tenants

Instead of squatting in building lobbies or selling drugs, these undesirables are turning over green spaces in search of food. However, for the residents of this residence in the 10th arrondissement of Marseille, the result is the same: they do not feel safe. Except that to chase away the intruders, the police cannot do much since they are wild boars.

Until last spring, the Cerisiers residence was rather peaceful. Except that, according to France 3, for several months now, insecurity has reigned due to regular visits from a band of wild boars, usually around ten.

“There they are back”

The raids by these wild pigs usually occur at night. The hungry beasts have thus taken to turning over the green spaces of the residence in search of food before returning home, in the Calanques national park located just behind the houses. To our colleagues, the caretaker of the place confided that the visits were regular in the spring before stopping during the summer. “Now, they are back,” she says.

In addition to destroying flowerbeds and lawns, wild boars are spreading terror among residents. The caretaker explained to France 3 that a young man even remained(…) - 20minutes
