The Games are over, what will become of the Olympic Village?

Legacy – A reconversion phase will begin next November to transform the Olympic village of Seine-Saint-Denis into a district that should welcome its new residents from 2025

After weeks of intense emotions, the celebration of the Olympic and Paralympic Games is now over. This enchanted interlude closed, the sad reality leaves little room for feelings since most of the Olympic sites are already in the dismantling phase.

If the Olympic Village is still standing, it is because its keys are still in the hands of Paris 2024, the organizing committee of the Games which should return them at the end of next October to Solideo, the establishment in charge of the Olympic works. This village which welcomed… the athletes will not be dismantled but transformed.

2,800 homes for 6,000 inhabitants

In fact, the Olympic Games were only a prelude for the 82 buildings of the Olympic village located in the municipalities of Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen and L’Île-Saint-Denis in the 93. The reconversion phase of the place will begin next November, and it is to become a residential area housing nearly 2,800 new homes for an estimated population of 6,000 people.

The first inhabitants of the village should very quickly (re)take up their quarters since they are students who were already living in the village before the Games. They will integrate part of the 800 housing(…) - 20minutes
