DISAPPOINTMENT – Recall, the next Windows tool, will not be able to be removed from PCs, contrary to what a bug in the operating system has led users to believe, some of whom are suspicious about their online privacy.
Microsoft has announced that it is currently working on a patch to fix a bug in Windows’ upcoming Recall feature. The tool that takes screenshots of PC users’ activities and uses AI to obtain a history of actions appears to be deactivated and reactivated via settings, explains The Verge this Monday. But that is not the case.
An irremovable feature
The “enable” or “disable” buttons are actually the result of a malfunction that appeared in the latest update of Windows 11. It is therefore impossible to uninstall Recall from a PC. Such a situation is far from making everyone happy. Many voices were indeed raised against Microsoft’s tool when the company unveiled it last May.
The criticism had been so virulent that the American giant had postponed the release date of Recall. Initially scheduled for June 18, the grand debut of the function is finally planned for next October for some users only.
