RETURN – As the two players boarded an Air France flight in Buenos Aires, their lawyer decried “a horror film that should never have existed”

Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou will return to France. The two French rugby players charged with rape in Argentina took a plane to France on Tuesday evening, after being authorized by the courts to leave the South American country.

After checking in at Buenos Aires’ Ezeiza airport, the rugby players headed to the immigration area without making a declaration. They then boarded an Air France plane shortly before midnight. They are expected in Paris this Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.

The green light from the court

During the day, the two players were given the green light to leave Argentina during a hearing – in their absence – at the Mendoza court. This decision was not a surprise. The justice system followed the recommendations of the prosecution according to which the accusation had “lost its initial force”. At the hearing, the accusation “did not object”, specified the Mendoza court.

“This is a horror film that should never have existed. It should never have happened, no complaints should have been filed,” said Cuneo Libarona on Tuesday evening at the airport.
