How many viewers watched the Paralympics closing ceremony?

Lhe great ratings are coming thick and fast for France Télévisions. According to Médiamétrie data, an average of 7.7 million people watched the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games on Sunday evening, September 8, representing an audience share of 37.7%. The ceremony, broadcast on France 2 from 8:30 p.m., gave pride of place to French electronic music: around twenty artists, including Jean-Michel Jarre, set the Stade de France alight.

The Paralympic opening ceremony attracted 10.2 million curious viewers, riding the wave of the Olympic Games’ success. The Paris 2024 sequence thus earned strong audiences for France Télévisions, the main broadcaster of the competition. Indeed, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games brought together 23.2 million viewers, a record, while the closing ceremony attracted 17.1 million people live.

France 2, leader in July and August

The French also became addicted to their TV during the Olympics. During the first half of the month, 58 million French people, or almost all of those over the age of 4, watched France Télévisions. In detail, as of August 8, the French had watched nineteen hours of Olympic content on public service channels. Regarding the Paralympic Games, nearly 40 million people watched at least one minute of these Games, an important indicator on TV, or 63% of the population.
