DEATH – She had to take an emergency flight back before receiving the Volpi Cup for Best Actress
Nicole Kidman is unlikely to forget the 81st Mostra – an international film festival held in Venice – since after learning that she was going to be honored for Babygirlher last film, the actress learned of the death of her mother, reports Première.
Present in Venice on August 30th to present Halina Reijn’s film, in which she plays alongside Antonio Banderas, the actress first returned to Nashville, where she lives with her husband Keith Urban, before taking the plane back to Italy to receive her award.
Express round trip
It was there that she learned the sad news and had to make an express return trip, giving up attending the closing ceremony of the Mostra and receiving a prestigious Volpi Cup for Best Actress. It is therefore the director of Babygirl who came on stage, received the award on her behalf and read a few words written by Nicole Kidman, Première said.
“Today, shortly after arriving in Venice, I learned of the passing of my courageous and beautiful mother, Janelle Anne Kidman,” the actress revealed. “I am in shock. But this award is for her.
