Emirates News Agency – Institute of Food Technologists honors Emirati Yousef Al-Saadi

CHICAGO, 19th July, 2023 (WAM) — Emirati food scientist Dr. Yousef Saeed Al Saadi has been honored by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), a non-profit science organization committed to advancing the science of food and its application across the global food system, as an ambassador for food scientists.

This appointment is part of the celebration of ten years of excellence in the professional certification program for food scientists.

At the association’s annual international conference held in Chicago July 16-19, the association recognized his scientific efforts and excellence among the 201 food scientists accredited worldwide at the occasion of the tenth anniversary of obtaining the certificate and the international title.

According to Al-Saadi, international food accreditations serve as the national benchmark at the federal level of the UAE for the manufacture of food and beverage products. Thus, supply chains and food safety are strengthened, quality standards are controlled and food production is monitored to ensure that quality standards for processed foods are met.

The aim of the Emirati project of Dr. Youssef Al-Saadi is to transfer knowledge to experts in the field of food in the country by adopting specialized Emirati talents.

It also organizes specialized and knowledge-based workshops for them, in preparation for international tests, in order to help them achieve professional excellence and obtain the title of internationally accredited food scientist.

Dr. Youssef Al-Saadi obtained his doctorate in food science at Kansas State University in the United States, where he specialized for four years in the development of rapid and sophisticated techniques for the research of bacteria in Food.

He has already managed to create a technique that can find bacteria in less than six hours.
