Tunisia aims to reduce the incidence of tuberculosis At less than 20 cases per 100,000 inhabitants through the implementation of the national program to combat tuberculosis 2025-2028.
In 2023, Tunisia recorded around 3014 cases of tuberculosis, or 26 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, against 3,264 cases in 2022, or 28 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, which confirms that the epidemiological situation is stable, according to the Ministry of the Health.
The World Health Organization (WHO) considers that the prevalence of tuberculosis is high when recorded more than 30 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per year, average when it is between 20 and 30 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per year, and low when it is less than 20 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per year.
