The Epernay hospital center in turn triggers the white plan

The Auban-Moët hospital center in Epernay had already made wearing a mask compulsory for everyone, including visitors, on January 8. Faced with the massive influx of patients, management decided to take it a step further and trigger the white plan.

The announcement was made at the end of the day this Wednesday, January 22 by the hospital management. “Given the epidemic situation (flu and other respiratory viruses), the crowds in the emergency room and the tension on downstream beds (insufficient beds available today at 5:30 p.m.), the management and the medical community of the Hospital Center d’Epernay have decided to trigger the white plan.” she wrote in a press release.

The establishment “also recommends that the population contact 15 or attending physician before going to the emergency room. Furthermore, the medical center of guard, located within the premises of the establishment, can receive the Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday and public holidays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 20h.”

According to the Regional Health Agency (ARS), “the activation of white plans gives latitude to establishment directors, in conjunction with their presidents of the establishment medical commission to immediately mobilize all the means In the event of an influx of patients or to deal with an exceptional health situation, they have: increase bed capacity for patients, adjust the scheduling of surgical activities and non-urgent medical conditions, and reorganize staff schedules to ensure continuity of care”.

A little earlier today, the Reims University Hospital announced that it was lifting its white plan. “In view of the favorable evolution of the situation, the Reims University Hospital is putting an end to the white plan and the regulation of access to adult emergencies as of January 22 at 9 a.m. Wearing a mask remains obligatory and barrier gestures are strongly recommended”, the hospital said in a press release.
