Faced with the lack of doctors, it has become essential throughout . The telemedicine cabin, allowing you to meet a doctor remotely, has been very successful. Example at the pharmacy L’Escale Santé 77 from Courtry (Seine-et-).

A success

In Courtry, the telemedicine cabin, installed in 2021, running at full speed. “At the time, two doctors were retiringand only one arrived. In the neighboring townsdepartures were to be expected,” recalls Vincent Dumontierco-manager of the L’Escale Santé 77 pharmacy.

The decision was therefore made to equip ourselves with this very easy-to-use equipment. You just need to go to the pharmacyand register. You just have to wait until a doctor becomes available to consult, and the trick is played. “The waiting time depends on when you come. It will be longer if you come late in the afternoon,” he warns. The average waiting time in 2024? Only 22 minutes.

426 teleconsultations in 2024

In 2024 alone, there will be 426 teleconsultations at the Courtry pharmacy. These took place mainly in January, where there were 54 passages, and in February, with 45 passages. December closes the top three, with 44 consultations. Among users, 65.73% are women, and patients are, on average, 32.9 years old.

Lately, the pharmacist has around two teleconsultations per day, “which is a lot”. It must be said that with the scarcity of general practitioners, and difficulties finding an appointment quicklysome are rushing for this equipment. “It’s still troubleshooting, when we can’t go see a general practitioner despite the need », recalls the professional. Some users even return to teleconsult. “We ask at the end of the teleconsultation how it went, and people are won over “, he assures.

However, according to its figures, there has been no increase in attendance since the closure of the cabins financed by the Department in the fall of 2024.

Getting there: 22, rue du Général Leclerc. Hours: Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. then from 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. (7 p.m. on Saturday).
