Chikungunya in Reunion: Mauritius strengthens its health measures

Mauritius is strengthening its health measures while Reunion Island is affected by chikungunya. According to Dr Fazil Khodabocus, from the Ministry of Health, no cases have been detected in Mauritius.

However, passengers arriving from the sister island are subject to close monitoring, he said. Doctors in the public and private sectors have been made aware of the symptoms to watch out for. Furthermore, hospitals are prepared to deal with any eventuality.
