Wearing a mask is compulsory at hospital in the face of flu and bronchiolitis

In a context marked by high epidemic activity, the Hospital Center has reactivated the obligation to wear a mask for all health professionals, patients and visitors. This measure, announced on social networks, “aims to limit the spread of influenza and bronchiolitis, two infections of particular concern this season.” we read on Facebook.

Corsica is currently experiencing its fourth week of flu epidemic, with increasing intensity of flu-like illnesses. The situation is aggravated by the transition to an epidemic phase of bronchiolitis, mainly affecting children under two years old.. “These conditions have led the hospital to strengthen its prevention measures, with the aim of protecting healthcare workers, vulnerable patients and their loved ones.” specifies the hospital.

A call for collective responsibility
In its post, the Bastia Hospital Center underlines the importance of respecting barrier gestures, such as hand hygiene and physical distancing, in addition to wearing a mask. The establishment recalls that these precautions are essential to slow the transmission of viruses, particularly within health establishments.
