Living well with endometriosis. This is the theme of the meeting organized at the Halles de la Cartoucherie, Friday January 31, 2025. Behind this initiative, there is the association “Elle, la vie, l’avenir” and the sexologist Sarah Gamboa. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the public will be able to participate in workshops (on registration) in the presence of specialists. Endometriosis and life as a couple, chrononutrition, hypnosis… The themes will be diverse.
Stakeholders from the world of health (and not only)
In the evening a conference will take place. The speakers will be Marc Perineau (gynecological surgeon), Victor Denouvion (departmental vice-president of Haute-Garonne), Françoise Prido (president of URPS Sage-Femmes) as well as the Fronton women’s tag rugby team. At the same time, participants will be able to attend a screening of the film Her, life, the futurewhich is about a couple suffering from endometriosis. Other activities such as a concert, a photo exhibition and a sale for the benefit of the association “Elle, la vie, l’avenir” will be offered.
What is endometriosis?
As a reminder, two million people suffer from endometriosis in France, according to the ministry responsible for higher education and research. This chronic inflammatory gynecological disease is defined by “the presence, outside the uterine cavity, of tissue similar to that of the lining of the uterus”, that is to say the endometrium. Severe pain, depression and anxiety are among the symptoms. Endometriosis is also the leading cause of infertility in France.
