This venerable association was born in 1985, relaunched in 2010 and held its general meeting at the beginning of the year in the village hall of Laroque-Timbaut.
In front of a third of the members present and almost as many member powers, Christian Meyzonnat presented the results of the year 2024. A year full of events, the cultural events offered by the association all recorded peaks in reasonable attendance. In terms of heritage preservation, the polychrome wooden statue of Saint Martin of Tours 18th century from the church in the hamlet of Norpech has been restored and will find its place in the village parish church. Raising awareness of heritage is also an objective of the association. In this context, she participated financially in an educational project with the local CM2 class of primary school by offering a visit to the Eysses archaeological museum in Villeneuve surLot. Two heritage discovery walks were also offered to members and non-members. Very active throughout the year, the financial situation is healthy and has good prospects for 2025.
A more substantial heritage component
Alongside cultural events (conferences, music, reading for all) and a project with primary school children in collaboration with the Director Mr. Penn, the safeguarding aspect of the Roquentine Heritage will take on more importance than in previous years. In fact, in consultation with the municipality, the association will participate financially in significant projects for the preservation and restoration of heritage planned for 2025. The association leaves the scoop to Mr. Le Roque Mire who will soon present them to his constituents. Before concluding and sharing the galettes des Rois and the bolet de cider in a friendly atmosphere, the president of the Heritage association thanked all the active volunteers as well as the volunteer donor members without whom it could not exist. Their door is open, and you can join them on the association’s website: www.patrimoinetcultue47.com
